Go Green For Earth Day

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22nd. How are you celebrating?

I try to celebrate every day by choosing to purchase reusable over plastic, driving a hybrid, drinking from a reusable water bottle, composting, shopping as seasonally and locally as possible, eating vegan, and by supporting conscious and sustainable brands who make eco-friendly, non-toxic products.

One of these brands I'm proud to support is Our Place. They just released an Earth Day collection and when they shared it with me, I immediately fell in love and knew I had to help them get the word out!

If you follow me on social you know I LOVE my spice colored Always Pan from Our Place and use it every single day for sauteing, steaming, making noodles, etc. I initially found them during my many months-long search for the best non-toxic cookware and the rest is history. I treated myself to this pan during their Black Friday sale and received a free set of bowls with my purchase! (I have since purchased the matching plates because I mean, just look at them!)

Anyways, they're so much more than just gorgeous products. Our Place has always been committed to sustainability: their glasses are made from recycled glass and natural sand, and the Always Pan's healthy, non-toxic coating releases less CO2 into the environment than the alternative coatings. Their pans are also Teflon, PFAS, and PTFE-free, super easy to cook with and clean, and yes, they're also dishwasher safe. Their mission and commitments have even earned them spots on Oprah’s favorite things, GMA, Today Show, NY Times, WSJ and more.

They're about to launch something super special for Earth Day and I am so excited that I was asked to share the news because there is nothing I love more than helping save the planet and saving money (yes, I scored you a discount code below)!

Ready for it? Our place is launching a beautiful green, Sage Always Pan along with a green-tinged Dawn Hand-blown Drinking Glass. In addition to being stunning, the green color is a nod to Earth Day and the importance of sustainability. (Honestly, if I didn't already have the Spice color, I would get this green, it's so perfect.)

They're also launching their new packaging consciously designed to be 100% free of plastic, fully recyclable and biodegradable, and using a clean soy-based ink; the innovative packaging reduces waste by eliminating the need for a shipper box so that the product box functions as the shipper box.

Since Mother's Day is right around the corner, this pan would also make an amazing gift! Green is Shiza Shahid's (co-founder of Our Place, Malala Fund, and Times Under 30 world-changer) mother's favorite color and it was chosen in large part in homage to her, but the other colors make the perfect mother’s day gift as well! And if Our Place wasn't already amazing enough, they have also partnered with Feeding America to help ensure no one goes hungry in the COVID-19 pandemic by donating 10 meals for every purchase. So far they have donated over 50,000 meals and that number continues to increase!

No matter which cookware you decide to use, or how you choose to celebrate, I hope you have an amazing Earth Day!

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

xo,

Melissa
